Blessing Bvunzawabaya

blessingBlessing was born and raised in Zimbabwe and is the youngest of 6 brothers. He learned the game of tennis from his brother David and through the development programs in Mutare Zimbabwe.

During his junior tennis days in Zimbabwe he was a member of the Zimbabwe Junior traveling team that toured around the world playing ITF tournaments. He also was part of the Zimbabwe Junior Davis Cup Team.

He came to the United States to play tennis at Seward County Community College in Kansas where he was ranked 16th in the nation. After completing his time there he finished his schooling at Prairie View A&M, where he received a degree in Business Management and Marketing. At Prairie View A&M, Blessing played number 1 for 2 years and helped lead his team to a conference championship, their first title in 31 years. He also was assistant coach for 2 years and during his tenure the team made it to the conference tournament finals each year.

Blessing went on to teach at Giammalva Racquet Club for 2 years and then taught at Copperfield Racquet and Health Club for 2 ½ years, and became junior director.

Blessing has taught all ages and specializes on technique and the pure love for the game. He believes that if you have fun at what you are doing then the challenges of learning something new are not as broad.

He is married to his wife Meghan and has a little girl named Abigail who loves to be around the game and has shown potential though she is not yet 2 years old.
