Tips from the Pro
"Quick Tip: Be a statue on your volleys!:
Quick Tip: Swing, swing, swing goes your volley. When you swing on your volley or have a big shoulder turn, you have very little control. Let your opponent do more work and you just block the ball to areas of the court for your winners. As you make contact on your volley try to “freeze” your racquet at the point of contact. If you do so, your strings should be pointing towards your target not towards the ground. To add more power, use your legs and move through the volley instead of a backswing. Freeze as you make contact and your volley will become more consistent and more of a weapon.
Bonus Quick Tip
Net players should always "call" their own lobs by saying "mine" or "yours". This means if the lob is going over your head you, not your partner decides if you will hit the overhead or if you need help from your partner.![]() ![]() ![]() |
